BTCC - Donington Park Race Weekend Results - 4/29/2018 12:27:17 PM

This weekend the BTCC took to the winding corners and fast back section of Donington Park in Leicestershire. Power Maxed Tag Racing entered the weekend hoping to continue from their success at the Brands Hatch season launch event… and what a great weekend it has been!

Cook demonstrated fantastic racing throughout the weekend, the PMTR driver experienced some challenging battles in the races but managed to pull through and cross the finish line ahead of his rivals taking first place.

Josh Cook said: “It’s a little bit easier starting from the front, that’s for sure! I’m over the moon for the guys and everyone who’s put all the hard work in. Senna (Proctor) got his last weekend and I needed mine. We were quick yesterday and I had to battle for the lead. I’m really glad to have brought it home and hopefully it’s the first of many!

Cook continued to comment “the Vauxhall’s an amazing drive now – the best car I’ve driven out of the box and every thanks to my engineers for it!”

However, Proctor experienced more of a challenging weekend and was officially reprimanded causing him to have to start race two from the back of the grid. Despite this, proctor used the speed of the PMR Vauxhall Astra to move forward 7 positions from 15th to 8th.

Senna said, “I feel a bit hard done by this weekend, but will keep my head up for Thruxton as I know we are quick enough to win again soon.” Unfortunately, the Astra was never close enough and settled for another brilliant podium to move into 3rd overall in the Drivers’ Championship.

Overall, the weekend was a great success for PMTR with a win for Josh Cook and great racing from Senna Proctor. Cook claimed a maiden BTCC victory and became the 19th driver on the current grid to have won a BTCC race.

Don’t miss PMTR in the next race weekend on the 19th- 20th May at Thruxton!
