Power Maxed Racing at Thruxton - 5/8/2017 12:06:15 PM
The third race weekend of the British Touring Car Championships took place in Hampshire at the Thruxton track on the 6th and 7th of May. The Thruxton track is famous for having the highest average speed of any circuit visited by the BTCC meaning that it was bound to be a thrilling weekend.
The Thruxton race track proved to be the prefect track to test the new Vauxhall’s high speed cornering ability. Both Astra’s faced challenges in all three races, including Proctor being caught between both MG’s resulting in him and both other drivers having to leave the track for repairs. However, Proctor managed to come back with an outstanding performance and stated, “to come away with the Jack Sears Trophy for the third weekend is real testament to the team and the rapid development in both myself as a BTCC rookie and for the brand new Vauxhall Astra, I am thrilled.”
Chilton also demonstrated superb driving as he performed in a few competitive races and finished in the top ten. Chilton also achieved the fastest race lap of the weekend in the new Vauxhall Astra which was a great achievement.
Overall the Power Maxed Racing team had another successful weekend with more points, the Jack Sears Trophy for Senna Proctor and the fastest lap set by Tom Chilton.Adam Weaver, Power Maxed Racing Team Principal said ”to bag points, the fastest lap and the Jack Sears is a great achievement for the team and the drivers. They are a great bunch, and I’m proud to say they represent Power Maxed Racing."
Look out for Power Maxed Racing in the new Vauxhall Astra at the next race weekend held at Oulton Park in Cheshire on the 20th-21st May.
